Tourists often find themselves drawn to this city in Italy with the intention of attending one of the general Papal Audiences. You can attend the Sunday Angelus hosted by the Pope, whichi is being being held at noon on Saint Peter’s Square. This square is very impressive when you walk around it on your own. The design of St. Peter’s Square was done by the world-renowned artist Bernini and it was finished in the seventeenth century. While you are in the Vatican City, you should also visit St. Peter’s Basilica. This church is considered the biggest Catholic Church in the World. The architecture of this building is stunning and the interior is equally impressive. One might also be interested in exploring the excavations beneath the church but be sure to secure a ticket in advance. Be sure also to visit the Sistine Chapel. Some parts of the chapel’s frescos were made by Perugino, Michelangelo, Botticelli, and other artists. The Sistine Chapel is truly remarkable.
